Fincap

Elegance and timelessness on Aleksanterinkatu

An office like a cozy living room

Real estate investment company Fincap was looking for new office spaces in Helsinki for its own use. The goal was to find an inviting location that matched the company’s elegant brand, a place where people would feel welcome.

Our work in this project:

  • Spatial layout
  • Spatial concept
  • Structural solutions
  • Project management

Collaboration across organizational boundaries

We began with a thorough assessment. In a joint workshop, we outlined the criteria for the location and the functionality of the new space. Next, we toured several available office spaces, considering how well each would fit Fincap’s needs. From the beginning, the team included not only Kakadu and Fincap staff but also the client’s trusted designer, Interior Design Office Hohde. The solution ended up being surprisingly close: Aleksi 30–34, a prime location, was at a stage where the concrete surfaces were ready to be finished for new tenants.
We had previously designed a concept for the building’s rental spaces, and Fincap liked the solutions, such as the proposed material palette for the surfaces.

In addition to Fincap, two other companies moved into the same office complex. The wishes and needs of all three tenants were considered as we continued collaborating on the finishing details.

A cozy environment encourages
employees to interact at the office

The excellent location provides great conditions for Fincap’s showroom, where they showcase their projects. The space can be accessed from several different doors, which helps ensure a peaceful work environment within the complex shared by the three tenants.

Thoughtful details and high-quality materials tie the space directly to Fincap’s story. At the same time, the basic solutions in the interior architecture are designed for long-term durability. As per the original concept, there are many consistent elements throughout the building’s various office spaces, from the restrooms to the fixed lighting fixtures. This allows for flexibility in the future when tenants change, and the spaces need to be reconfigured or combined.
In this smooth collaboration, we were primarily responsible for the structural solutions and site management after the concept phase, while the client’s long-term partner, Interior Design Office Hohde, ensured that the colors and furniture details formed the desired overall aesthetic.
