Vaaka Partners

Two floors filled with elegance and high quality

Sustainably designed spaces based on user needs

The office of private equity firm Vaaka Partners underwent a comprehensive renovation, gaining a prestigious and brand-supportive appearance. The users of the space were involved through workshops and an online survey, which revealed the need for a functional and atmospheric work environment.

Our work in this project:

Data-driven design and user-focused details

Survey respondents wanted the spaces to reflect comfort and community. Warm, even darker tones, and natural materials were chosen to add softness to the environment. Carefully designed and adjustable lighting plays a key role in creating ambiance, especially given our northern location’s varying light conditions. Comfortable lounge furniture invites colleagues to sit together, while sound-absorbing surfaces like noise-dampening floor materials ensure conversations don’t disturb others’ work.
The workspaces were designed to be practical and to provide quiet areas for tasks requiring concentration, as well as small spaces for meetings of just a few people. The spaces stay tidy with clear storage solutions for all essentials. The lighting at workstations was designed so that each person can adjust the lighting to their personal preference.

High-quality furniture for long-term use

Many of the existing, well-preserved pieces of furniture, such as desks, chairs, and cabinets, were retained. Furniture and carpets that were no longer in use were recycled through Pa-Ri Materia. When selecting new furniture and materials, emphasis was placed on high quality, timelessness, and responsible, eco-conscious manufacturers.

The pandemic situation also brought new solutions to Vaaka Partners’ offices. Handwashing and sanitization stations were made easily accessible for employees and visitors, and ventilation was improved with motion sensors to direct airflow to areas in use.

Thanks to smooth collaboration between designers and contractors, the project was completed efficiently within the planned timeline.
