Varma
Conference center by the sea
Timeless elegance in a prestigious setting
Pension insurance company Varma had leftover space after a long-time tenant had moved out. Repurposing and renovation merged the space with the already renewed areas of the building.
Our work in this project:
- Comprehensive interior architecture and project management
- Property renovation
- Spatial layout
- Signage design
- Patterns and graphics
Inspiration drawn from the surrounding seascape
In the approximately 1,500 m² renovation area, nearly all partition walls and ceilings were dismantled and rebuilt. To enhance the brightness of the corridor areas, some of the wall structures were opened up. Seventeen meeting rooms and one training room were created in the space formerly used by occupational health services. On the lower floors, restrooms were renovated, and a client kitchen was added. Internal kitchen spaces were also built on the upper floors.
The design extended to the adjacent property, where new meeting rooms, complete with movable furniture, were created on the ground floor. The unified look of the property was completed with signage and graphic decals that complemented the interior design. The room names were inspired by the surrounding seaside.Sustainable design with minimal changes

The space renovations improved the leasing potential of the property, enabling the provision of temporary spaces to businesses on short notice. The attractive meeting facilities enhanced the usability of the spaces, serving the new tenant with state-of-the-art technical installations that meet today’s standards. Selected materials are natural, high quality and long lasting, blending into the unique setting and location.
